What do we do?

Through our scholarship program, the Blackbird Arts Collective seeks to partner with other organizations to provide funding for arts education endeavors. This program is open for students ages 3-18 who reside in Faulkner County and demonstrate limited financial means; funds may be used for programs not located in Faulkner County.

What do we fund?

Scholarships may be approved for such educational purposes as: performing and visual arts classes or lessons, summer camps or intensives, workshops, or training programs (this list is not all-inclusive). All applications will be considered by a committee and funds will be given based on applicant financial need, applicant’s passion and dedication to their arts education, and the availability of funds.

How we work!

The Blackbird Arts Collective will raise funds throughout the year for the scholarship program. Organizations providing arts education opportunities for children can become an approved arts partner by agreeing to the terms listed below. Students can then apply for scholarships to attend programming at these approved partner agencies. Blackbird will pay tuition fees directly to the partner on behalf of the student. Scholarship recipients and their guardians will complete waivers allowing communication between Blackbird and our arts partners regarding their attendance and progress.

As an Approved Arts Partner:

I agree to facilitate open communication regarding scholarship applicants with Blackbird Arts Collective.

I understand that if my student is no longer attending our programs, I have the obligation to report this to the Blackbird Arts Collective.

I agree to have the appropriate instructor fill out an evaluation regarding the student at the end of their program, reporting on attendance, progress, attitude, and instructor recommendations.

I commit to working towards a productive, positive partnership with the Blackbird Arts Collective and to handling all communication with and about the Collective in a professional manner.

I understand that in the event my organization fails to meet any of the above items, we may be removed from the approved partners category. In this case, applicants would no longer be eligible for scholarships to our programs.

Blackbird Arts Collective

Blackbird was founded in 2009 with the original goal to provide quality arts education and opportunities to the Central Arkansas area. After operating as a performing and fine arts academy for nine years, the organization has shifted its focus to providing arts scholarships for local students, as well as cultivating possibilities for aspiring creatives.
